- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients of varied age groups using established testing measures and observation methods.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate communication goals as well as long-term cognitive, linguistic, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions emphasizing aspects like communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing habits.
- Engage in a multidisciplinary approach by collaborating with physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure seamless care continuity.
- Educate patients and their families, fostering an understanding that extends beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions on occasion, ensuring an integrated treatment experience.
- Keep precise and prompt records in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field, making use of continuing education and peer interactions.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been attained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-driven therapy techniques applicable across all age groups, with a well-rounded knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong communication abilities essential for engaging with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- A capacity to tailor therapy techniques for varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Robust clinical judgment and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
