Project Manager (DoD / Government Programs)


At Applied Technology Solutions, Inc. (ATS), our Project Managers lead the delivery of mission-critical programs that matter.


In this role, you will own programs end-to-end-driving performance across cost, schedule, and technical execution-while building strong, trusted relationships with customers in DoD and government environments.


You won't just manage timelines, you'll lead teams, solve complex problems, and deliver results that have real-world impact.


What You'll Do

• Own full program execution across cost, schedule, and technical performance (CST)

• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to deliver high-impact solutions

• Build and manage program plans, schedules, and budgets, including forecasting and resource planning

• Serve as the primary customer interface, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities for growth

• Ensure alignment with contract scope, managing changes through formal change control processes

• Proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities, driving mitigation and resolution

• Proactively communicate program status to ATS leadership

• Deliver clear, actionable program reporting to leadership and customers

• Ensure compliance with ATS processes, quality standards, and government requirements

• Manage subcontractors and external partners when applicable

What We're Looking For

• Experience managing programs in DoD or government contracting environments, specifically related hardware design, production, and test

• Proven ability to deliver across cost, schedule, and technical baselines

• Strong leadership skills with experience guiding cross-functional technical teams

• Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-accountability environments

• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of program or project management experience -relevant technical leadership experience may also be considered

• Experience with government contracts, compliance, and reporting structures

• Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Direct experience with hardware programs related to hypersonics, reentry vehicles, or similar flight vehicle systems

• Background in engineering, defense systems, or technical programs

• Experience managing subcontractors or multi-partner programs where the design and production of hardware is the end deliverable
