High School Assistant Principal The High School Assistant Principal, under the direction of the High School Principal, supports the implementation of the school's management plan by overseeing curriculum, instruction, counseling, discipline, student activities, and daily school operations. Responsibilities include supervising staff, supporting student achievement and intervention programs, coordinating guidance and testing services, managing schedules and operational functions, and fostering effective communication among students, staff, parents, and the community. The Assistant Principal also promotes continuous professional growth and performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Appropriate Administrative Credential Successful secondary experience (teaching and/or administrative) Successful leadership experience, such as serving in one or more of the following roles: Counselor, assistant principal, department chairperson, TOSA, support provider, summer school administrator, and administrative interim. Desirable Qualifications A thorough understanding of the complexities of a high school program Successful administrative and counseling experience Conversant in Spanish Master's Degree - preferably in school administration An understanding of WASC/SDE accreditation Strong background in effective instructional practices and staff development The Governing Board desires to provide a positive work environment where employees and job applicants are free from harassment and are assured of equal access and opportunities in accordance with Law.
