Data AnalystResponsibilities:Work with business partners to define needs, including when requirements are vague or still taking shapeTranslate business needs into clear requirements and tasks for data engineering and BI developersReview existing reports, spreadsheets, and ERP-driven processes to document current-state logicAnalyze and validate data hands-on to confirm assumptions and guide how data is modeled in the platformDefine solution scope and hand off well-documented requirements to the build teamMonitor data quality and catch issues before they reach business usersTroubleshoot data problems and partner with data engineering on upstream root causesSupport business teams through build, testing, and rollout to drive full adoptionBuild strong working relationships with business users, IT groups, and the enterprise data teamExperience:5+ years of experience in data analysis or data engineering rolesSQL: Strong querying and data manipulation skills for analysis, validation, and modeling decisionsRequirements: Proven ability to gather requirements and reverse-engineer existing reports and systemsData Modeling: Dimensional modeling and star schema designPower BI: Semantic models and report development for prototyping and validationPlatforms: Microsoft Fabric or a comparable modern data platformAI Tools: Practical use of AI assistants (such as Claude or GitHub Copilot) for SQL, data profiling, and documentation, with full ownership of accuracyStrong communicator who builds trust with technical and non-technical stakeholdersSelf-directed and curious, comfortable creating clarity in ambiguous situationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldExperience: Mid-Level Job Type: Contract Job Location: Metro Detroit Hybrid
