Responsible for the administration of the school in the absence of the principal. Assist in planning and carrying out student programs of instruction, curriculum revision and implementation, and preparation of written reports. Support the principal with performance management and the evaluation of personnel. Monitoring staffing needs across teams. Assist in the planning and implementation of building in-service programs, and faculty meetings. Maintain the school’s adherence to VAISEF accreditation standards. Responsible for studying students’ outcomes relative to the mission, goals, and objectives of the program, implementing the outcome study, and summarizing the results. Responsible for using the Summary Outcome data in the school’s improvement plan, and making sure this information is available for dissemination. Be a member of VAISEF’s committee. Responsible for participating in VAISEF’s required activities. Responsible for participating in VAISEF’s semi-annual conferences. Responsible for the success of student programs. Collaborate with Educational and Behavior Lead’s ability to support instructional assistants and senior instructional assistants’ delivery of service. Evaluate, develop, and implement services for students educational programming and behavior interventions. Responsible for task delegation to Educational Leads and Behavioral Leads, as applicable and appropriate. Responsible for reviewing and providing corrective feedback to Educational Leads and Behavioral Leads’ written products. Assist in evaluating and supervising the Educational Leads and Behavioral Leads’ performance. Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with different stakeholders, such as parents, Behavioral Leads, Educational Leads, senior Instructional Assistants, Instructional Assistants, SLPs, OTs, PTs, and LEAs. Responsible for conflict resolution between different stakeholders. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of all curriculum materials. Responsible for consulting with teaching staff regarding location and appropriateness of specific materials. Produce written products free from error. Track daily data using daily collection program. Develop and maintain behavior plans. Oversees and reviews research when research projects are being conducted. Work within IEP administrative process to ensure essential deadlines are met. Work collaboratively with others, such as parents, OTs, SLPs, BCaBAs, BCBAs, and LEAs. Onboard new students enrolling in the Aurora school, including conducting assessments as appropriate, and developing a new IEP and BIP. Assist with the admission process: reviewing referrals, conducting observations, completing tours, and making recommendations. Evaluate and provide ongoing feedback and training to staff. Mentor for Behavioral Leads and Educational Leads; time spent monthly reviewing teaching and behavioral procedures. Work directly with students with disabilities and behavior issues daily. Meet essential deadlines within data reporting process. Provide supervision to individuals seeking certification in behavior analysis or licensure in special education (as applicable and as necessary). Implement Professional Crisis Management (PCM) Techniques after completing and receiving a passing score on the training components. Flexible with daily routines. Qualifications (Essential Experience /Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) 2 or more years of leadership and organizational management, preferably in ABA and Special Education. Experience within an ABA environment, working with children and adolescents with special needs, including Autism. Ability to work with students having high intensity/aggressive behavior issues. Sound understanding of the Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior. Good time management and organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Data driven problem solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Knowledge of and experience with transition services. Knowledge and experience with assistive technology, including pictures. Special Education background preferred. Familiar with sign language preferred. Education Requirements Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology or Special Education required. Holds a valid Virginia (or out-of-state) teaching license in Special Education or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license (provisionally or fully) in Special Education (must submit transcripts) will be considered. Certification/License:BCBA or VA License as Behavior Analyst (through the VA Department of Medicine) preferred. Professional Development & Training Maintain BACB Certification or Virginia Teaching Licensure (as applicable). Seek out necessary resources to maintain current in trends and research about topics related to the field, including ABA and Autism. Attend all mandatory staff and team meetings. Attend program and company trainings and professional development opportunities, as required. Participate in annual Prevention Crisis Management training. Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Effectively implement and physically implement PCM procedures (when trained). Frequent change in position from sitting to standing to walking. Ability to bend, reach, and hold objects.
