Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team. This position offers flexibility with either a 5-day full-time schedule or a 4-day schedule of 32 hours with prorated pay. The role is exclusively outpatient, Monday through Friday, with no night, weekend, or holiday call required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new office referrals and conduct patient follow-ups.
• Order appropriate diagnostic studies.
• Prepare for angiography and surgical procedures, and provide post-operative care.
• Manage wounds, including surgical wounds and minor debridement, and use antibiotics prudently.
• Receive training in minor procedures, such as venous catheter removal.
• Utilize knowledge and experience with arterial and venous disease, including conditions like carotid stenosis, stroke, aortic aneurysms, claudication, ischemic ulcers, varicose veins, and venous ulcers.
• Possess skill and experience in sclerotherapy, which is desirable.
• Demonstrate familiarity or willingness to learn the basics of non-invasive vascular testing.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of APP experience in Vascular Surgery or a similar skill set. Consideration will be given to strong new graduates with extensive Vascular Surgery nursing experience.
• Active Rhode Island license required.
• Board Certified.
