About the Position

Job Opportunity – Level III/IV NICU Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: West Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with variable self-scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; floating to pediatric units as needed (PICU, Pediatrics, Pediatric ED). Commitment to work 3 of 5 major winter holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• Work in a 43-bed Level IV NICU at a 181-bed Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:2-4 with a daily census of approximately 35 neonates
• Epic EMR charting system with 12 hours of paid orientation
• Care for diverse diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, surgical cases (all subspecialties except cardiac), and HIE
• Flexible contract lengths available; candidates open to longer than 13-week assignments are welcomed
• Free parking and convenient bike racks available on campus

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
• Active RN license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Advanced skills required including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, arterial line management, administration of blood products, central line care, high flow nasal cannula, oscillators, nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, and chest tube management
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Patient ratio experience with 2-4 patients required
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
