About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have active Illinois license Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience preferred. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy skills/experience including PICC line management and starting IVs. Description: Position for an Orthopedic Registered Nurse on a 38-bed unit. The role is for 3x12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience are required, but first-time travelers are accepted. The schedule includes working every other weekend. The candidate will float to other medical-surgical departments as needed. Candidates must have strong IV therapy skills and telemetry experience preferred. Cerner experience is preferred for charting. The unit primarily handles orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacements and trauma patients needing orthopedic surgical interventions. Additional responsibilities include managing traction, performing bedside debridement, and conducting complex dressing changes. The unit is equipped with slings, walkers, IV pumps, and vital sign monitors. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to compliance protocols and meet all necessary requirements upon acceptance.
