Experienced Systems EngineerBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking experienced systems engineers (Level 4) to join a cross-functional team supporting an air dominance proprietary program. This fully onsite role in Hazelwood, MO will focus on requirements development, leading suppliers through design and component qualification, and system-level analysis and qualification for a high-reliability emergency egress system.BDS proprietary programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our Department of Defense (DoD) customers. If you thrive in a fast pace culture, eagerly take action, set high standards for yourself, passionately honor commitments, strive to be the best and deliver results to achieve the unthinkable, this role is for you!Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop, capture, and maintain clear, verifiable system and subsystem requirements in coordination with design, safety, certification, and program stakeholders.Translate top-level requirements into component level requirements, verification criteria, and acceptance conditions with full traceability.Manage suppliers technically through design, test, and component qualification activities, including supplier selection support, technical oversight, issue resolution, and corrective action tracking.Lead and support component and subassembly qualification/certification: test planning, procedure development, witness testing, non-conformance resolution, and supplier audits.Support system-level testing and qualification (integration, environmental, lifecycle, and performance testing) and ensure requirements-to-test traceability.Perform system analyses including FMEA, fault tree analysis (FTA), reliability modeling, and performance assessments to support design and qualification.Prepare qualification artifacts, compliance matrices, and test reports for internal and external reviews and support certification/safety activities.Manage technical risks, schedule impacts, and change control for escape system deliverables.Occasional travel to supplier sites and test facilities as required.Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science4+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experienceDemonstrated experience managing suppliers through design and component qualification processes.Strong technical writing skills for test plans, procedures, qualification reports, and compliance matrices.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead supplier technical discussions and resolve issues.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification of Escape Systems (e.g., ASME, MILSPEC, etc.)Experience in Critical Safety SystemsPrior experience with pyrotechnic or rocket motor components and qualification4+ years of relevant experience in design, development, or qualification of escape/egress systems or other safety-critical aerospace systems.Proven experience developing requirements and verification/validation plans with bi-directional traceability.Hands-on experience with system-level analysis: FMEA, FTA, reliability and performance modeling.
