GENERAL DESCRIPTION : Responsible to oversee all quality aspects of processes within their area of responsibility. Responsible to maintain inter-department relationships as it relates to all quality issues, following up on implementation of permanent corrective actions to improve the overall product quality. Support implementation of the quality assurance program.

AUTHORITY:

·       Enforce and promote the quality system and local/division goals.

·       Promote awareness of customer requirements and legal requirements at all levels of the organization.

·       Promote compliance to quality and environmental policies/procedures and support creation.

·       Stop any process relevant to quality or safety.

·       Manage documentation, investigation and corrective actions for non-conforming product.

·       Report to management any customer quality issues.

·       Inform management of any opportunity for improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to):

·       Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup.

·       Support in the development and maintenance of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new products.

·       Coordinate and lead the Measurement System Analysis (MSA) process for  testing instruments and analyze/report the data using appropriate statistical techniques. Serve as site’s MSA subject matter expert (SME).

·       Support management of test instruments including calibration schedule and troubleshooting activities, purchasing and inventory management of gages, calipers, etc. for new products.

·       Support engineering change control, process validation and equipment qualification/re-qualification in a manufacturing setting for key or strategic projects.

·       Create and update control plans and coordinate closely with process administrators to create/update inspection plans periodically in support of production.

·       Research and define new test equipment associated with quality control.

·       Ensure the quality control guidelines are effectively integrated into the manufacturing process to maintain production schedules and reduce cycle times.

·       Support continuous improvement activities aimed at improving customer satisfaction.

·       Identify and introduce 5S / process improvements as required.

·       Assist in company audits of potential and/or existing suppliers.

·       Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment for new products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

·       4 years of college degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience

·       5+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance or similar role

·       In-depth knowledge of ISO 13485, Good Documentation Practices and other applicable standards

·       Working knowledge of SPC, Process Validation and Risk Management (FMEA, root cause analysis, etc.)

·       Skilled in information technology, including setting up and maintaining automated test data collection at testing stations

·       Knowledgeable and experience in performing calibration and issuing calibration certificates

·       Advanced proficiency in SAP and MS Office products. Knowledge of use of Smartsheet is a plus.

·       Excellent communication and organizational skills

·       Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience is a plus
