Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients spanning pediatric through geriatric age groups using standardized testing and observational strategies.
Create individualized treatment strategies focusing on both immediate objectives and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
Administer personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
Partner collaboratively with fellow professionals—such as physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and family members—to develop cohesive care plans.
Educate patients and families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless treatment experience.
Document progress meticulously in alignment with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain awareness of industry advancements.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as a prerequisite for ASHA certification.
State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based methodologies suitable for patients of all ages, with in-depth knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Adept at modifying therapeutic approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving skills.
Proficient in electronic medical records management and documentation standards.
