LPN / LVN - LTC Profession: Nursing Specialty: LPN, Long Term Care (LTC) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 3 Years License: Licensed Practical Nurse Certifications: Current CPR/AED Certification Must-Have: Ability to recognize changes in the condition of residents and take required action. Able to read, write, and speak in English in a legible and understandable manner. Description:Provides nursing care services consistent with the responsibilities of an LPN.Observe and report symptoms and conditions of residents.Administer medications as prescribed by a physician.Give treatments as ordered.Count narcotics and maintain records of the same.Maintain records reflecting resident condition, medication, treatments, and progress.Transcribe physician written and telephone orders.Assist with completion of nursing history and assessment, MDS, and care plans.Assist in the orientation and supervision of nursing staff.Perform direct resident care as necessary.Conform to recognized nursing practice and facility policies and procedures.Participate in ongoing in-service education.Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities when necessary.Prepare and coordinate CNA assignments.Responsible for calling physicians.Book tests, labs, x-rays, and medical appointments.Assist physicians in making rounds and preparing charts for signatures.Check meal trays for accuracy.Directly supervise CNAs.Perform all treatments and assessments as required.Perform resident admissions and discharges.Notify physicians/Nurse Practitioners of any changes in resident status.Notify family members and healthcare providers of changes in treatment status.Documentation and nurses' notes.Responsible for updating care plans.Answers to nurse managers. Physical Requirements:Able to lift up to fifty pounds.Able to push/pull forty pounds.Able to stand for up to four hours per day.Able to bend, squat, and stoop to floor level.Able to kneel.Able to walk.Able to reach heights of up to four and one-half feet.Able to see and hear with or without prostheses.Able to move intermittently.Able to cope with physical and mental job stress. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
