Fabrication Operator AThe Fabrication Operator A fabricates steel frames and parts for boat trailers. The position will be cross trained on all equipment including presses, drills, saws, plasma cutters, rail benders, cranes, and various hand tools.Essential Functions:Follows daily schedules and produces required parts.Reads drawings and schematics to determine correct specifications of trailer parts.Operates machinery including presses, drills, saws, plasma cutters, rail benders, cranes, and various hand tools - Operator will have primary workstations but will be cross trained in as many areas as possible.Lifts and transports trailer rails and parts up to 50 lbs.All other duties as assignedExperience/Qualifications:Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalentKnowledge, Skills, and Ability:Ability to read blueprints and specificationsAbility to read tape measureBasic math skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWill be required to pass pulmonary function and fit test if wearing a respiratorResponsible for wearing PPE at all times based on the requirements of the job positionPhysical Requirements:Light lifting, under 20 lbs.Light carrying, under 20 lbs.Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs.Moderate carrying, 21 – 59 lbs.Straight pullingPushingRepeated bendingReaching over shouldersUse of fingersWalkingStandingKneelingRepeated stretchingSpecific visual requirementsAbility to distinguish basic colorsAbility to distinguish shades of colorHearing (aid permitted)Work Environment:Outside and insideExtreme heatExtreme humidityExtreme noise, intermittentDustFumes, smoke, or gassesSolvents (degreasing agents)Slippery or uneven walking surfacesIndependent Judgement:Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures.
