Job Summary:
A reputable healthcare facility near Springfield, Illinois is seeking a skilled registered nurse for a traveling Cardio Vascular Nurse position in the CVICU. The role involves providing specialized care to cardiac patients, with a preference for candidates with open heart experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF patients in the CVICU setting.
• Titrate IV drips under hospital protocols, including vasoactive medications.
• Pull sheaths and operate CRRT machines, demonstrating advanced clinical skills.
• Interpret telemetry strips accurately from monitors, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, RNs, RTs, and tech staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient status and interventions thoroughly in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Hold valid Illinois RN license and current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Possess experience with post-operative cardiac patients, including open heart cases.
• Have proficiency in pulling sheaths, CRRT management, and telemetry interpretation.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Level 2 trauma or higher ICU settings.
• Be willing to work one night shift per assignment.
• Experience with ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and other respiratory equipment preferred.
