Radiology - CT Tech

CT Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 19:00-07:00

Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, the CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. This role involves verifying patient identity and reviewing medical records for the appropriateness of exams or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators.
• Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
• Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script.
• Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate findings to the radiologist.
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies appropriately.
• Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
• Participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
• Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
• Be able to take call/standby as required by the department.
• May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ARRT certification in CT Tech & Radiology.
• Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in CT and Radiology.
• Familiarity with GE CT and X-ray machines is required.
