Job Title: Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1700-0500 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum two years of current experience in specialty; at least one previous travel assignment License: State Nursing License (Compact State accepted) Certifications: BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: - Team player - Flexible - Accustomed to a fast-paced environment - EPIC experience (training available on-site) Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of licensed practical nurses and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
