Full-Time | Nights | 7:00 PM7:00 AM | MondayFriday | Weekends as Needed
Join Our Hematology/Oncology Team
We're looking for a friendly, organized, and compassionate Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) to support our Hematology/Oncology team. You'll serve as an important connection between patients, families, and the healthcare team while helping keep the unit organized and running efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors.
- Answer and direct multi-line phone calls and relay messages.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and other departments.
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with accurate documentation.
- Communicate with Telemetry regarding cardiac monitoring.
- Notify nurses and team leaders of patient movement and departures.
- Assist with regulatory and compliance checklists.
- Maintain an organized front desk and ensure supplies, linens, and patient-care areas are stocked.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the healthcare team.
- Assist with additional duties as needed to promote safe, efficient patient care.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year experience in healthcare, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
