Fellowship in Structural Heart Disease for July 2027–2028

Our organization is pleased to offer a one-year, non-ACGME Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship in Structural Heart Disease for individuals who will complete their Interventional Cardiology training by June 2027. As part of a large health system, we operate six structural heart programs within our network. This high-volume, multidisciplinary fellowship provides extensive, hands-on training aimed at equipping fellows with the essential skills to manage, plan, and execute structural heart interventions throughout a patient's care journey.

The training encompasses various transcatheter therapies, including but not limited to:

• TAVR
• M-TEER/T-TEER
• TMVR
• TTVR
• Paravalvular leak closure
• PFO/ASD closure
• Left atrial appendage occlusion
• Electrosurgery
• Catheter-directed thrombectomy
• Mechanical support
• Hybrid surgical procedures

Our collaboration with industry partners allows fellows to engage in pivotal IDE and EFS studies within the structural heart domain, positioning our program at the cutting edge of innovation and next-generation device development. Training also includes advanced echocardiography and CT imaging techniques for managing complex structural heart cases. The program works closely with Cardiothoracic Surgery, facilitating collaboration within a high-volume, minimally invasive, robotic cardiac surgical environment. Fellows will have ample opportunities for clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activities, supported by dedicated time and mentorship.

This fellowship is open to candidates who are board certified or board eligible in both adult cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Established in 1857, our facility is a 450-bed acute care hospital located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. We are among the few institutions in the nation with a dedicated Division of Structural Heart Disease within the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, promoting seamless collaboration. Our cardiology program consistently ranks among the Top 25 nationwide according to U.S. News & World Report, reflecting our dedication to clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient outcomes. Our faculty comprises two full-time and two part-time Structural Heart Interventional Cardiologists, one dedicated Structural Cardiac Surgeon (with a total of five Cardiac Surgeons, including one minimally-invasive Cardiac Surgical Fellow), and two Interventional Echocardiographers, all committed to providing intensive mentorship, skill enhancement, and career development for fellows.

Compensation for full-time clinical training at our organization ranges from $70,000 to $100,000. This range is influenced by various factors, including physician specialty, experience level, quality of care, academic achievements, patient experience, and productivity. The stated base compensation range is a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to change in the future.
