Safety Director – Commercial ConstructionA leading Atlanta commercial general contractor is looking for an experienced Safety Director to take ownership of its safety program, provide leadership across active projects, and continue raising the standard for how safety is approached throughout the organization.And one of the biggest advantages of this role: this is a local Atlanta position. Relocation is required.This is not simply a compliance role. The Safety Director will have a visible voice within the company, work closely with executive and operational leadership, and play an important part in how projects are planned and executed from a safety standpoint.The RoleYou'll lead the company's overall safety program while partnering directly with project teams and field leadership throughout the Atlanta market.Responsibilities will include:Lead and continually improve the company-wide safety programProvide safety leadership and direction to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teamsVisit active Atlanta-area jobsites and work directly with project teams to identify and mitigate riskConduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and assessmentsDevelop and implement safety policies, procedures, and best practicesLead safety training, toolbox initiatives, and continuing educationEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standardsOversee incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentationTrack safety metrics and identify trends before they become larger issuesSupport preconstruction and project planning with site-specific safety strategiesPartner with subcontractors to ensure expectations are clearly established and consistently enforcedServe as a trusted safety resource for both field and executive leadershipWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who understands that the strongest safety programs aren't built from an office—they're built through credibility with the people actually doing the work.The ideal candidate will bring:Significant construction safety experience, preferably within a commercial general contractorPrevious safety leadership experience at the Director, Corporate Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager levelStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standardsOSHA 510 – REQUIREDProven experience developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programsStrong field presence and the ability to communicate effectively with everyone from craft professionals to executive leadershipExperience with incident investigation, documentation, training, risk mitigation, and jobsite auditsThe ability to hold teams accountable while still building strong working relationshipsWhy This Opportunity Stands OutThis position is based in Atlanta, supporting local projects throughout the market.
