Position Overview

LGES Vertech is looking for an experienced software quality assurance (SQA) engineer at our Westborough, MA head office. We are looking for a self-starter who brings an entrepreneurial spirit to join the Data Science and Data Analysis (DSDA) team and contribute to the software products used to solve complex issues and enhance system performance in the exponentially growing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry. The SQA engineer will be part of a growing team, which offers plenty of opportunities to work on different technologies to achieve business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of the Climate tech revolution and help solve the most complex problems through software engineering.
• Work closely with developers of diverse backgrounds and skill sets to deliver high-quality software products.
• Design, develop, and maintain testing strategies and plans for software applications used in grid-scale energy storage systems.
• Conduct testing and validation of software updates, patches, and new features to ensure compatibility and functionality.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios to ensure software meets quality and performance requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on coding standards, best practices, and software design.
• Document test results, defects, and issues clearly and concisely.  

Job Requirements:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Must have experience with Python-based software development and testing.
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Pytest, Zephyr, Selenium).
• Experienced with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency with automation testing tools.
• Experienced with agile development workflow and Scrum methodology.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Experience working with cloud-based applications and services, preferably AWS, with an understanding of cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake, including validating data pipelines, data quality, and application integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• User-level experience with Jira.
• Demonstrated ability to manage testing activities across multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while maintaining quality and meeting delivery timelines.
• Experience testing data-intensive applications, APIs, backend services, and web applications.
• Strong ability to prioritize defects and testing activities based on business impact and risk.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Preferred:

• Certifications in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Familiarity/experience with BESS industry.
• Familiarity with microservices infrastructure in the cloud.
