Senior Biologist

We are seeking a Senior Biologist to lead and contribute to high-quality biological research, development, and technical delivery across a range of projects. The successful candidate will apply strong scientific expertise to design studies, interpret complex data, and provide evidence-based recommendations that support project objectives. This role will involve working across multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on schedule, and in accordance with relevant regulatory, quality, and health and safety requirements. Key responsibilities will include developing experimental plans and protocols; overseeing laboratory, field, or analytical activities; reviewing and interpreting biological data; preparing technical reports, study documentation, and presentations; and communicating findings to both scientific and non-specialist audiences. You will help identify and resolve technical challenges, contribute to continuous improvement of methods and processes, and support the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and timelines. The role may also involve supervising or mentoring junior colleagues, coordinating contractors or partner organisations, and maintaining accurate records in line with applicable quality systems and good scientific practice. Applicants should hold a degree in biology, ecology, life sciences, or a related discipline, together with substantial professional experience in a relevant scientific environment. Strong knowledge of biological methods, experimental design, data analysis, and scientific literature is essential. Experience with relevant software, laboratory or field techniques, regulatory frameworks, and quality assurance procedures would be advantageous. You will be an organised and proactive scientist with excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and contribute positively within collaborative teams is essential.
