Assistant Controller

On-site in East Rutherford, NJ Our client seeks an Assistant Controller who combines technical expertise with business acumen, enjoys improving processes, and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. The Assistant Controller will oversea financial reporting and accounting operations. The role will manage close cycles, ensure GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, and support audits. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Salary: $140,000 - $150,000/ yr. w2 Responsibilities Support monthly and quarterly close activities, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. Assist with public company reporting requirements and regulatory filings. Partner with plant and operations teams on inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing finance activities. Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Support audit engagements and maintain strong internal control processes. Drive accounting process enhancements, reporting efficiencies, and ERP optimization initiatives. Provide financial insight to business leaders and support data-driven decision making. Experience Requirements 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience in a public company environment. Background in manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
