Business Development Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the water and wastewater sector. This role will focus on identifying new commercial opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and positioning technical solutions that address the evolving needs of municipal, industrial, and infrastructure customers. The successful candidate will combine strong market knowledge with a consultative, commercially minded approach and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.


Responsibilities will include developing and executing business development plans, researching market trends, and identifying prospective clients, projects, and partnership opportunities. You will manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement and opportunity qualification through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract award. The role will involve working closely with technical, engineering, project delivery, and commercial teams to prepare compelling bids and ensure solutions are aligned with customer requirements. You will also maintain accurate pipeline forecasts, contribute to pricing and commercial strategy, attend industry events, and build a strong network across utilities, contractors, consultants, regulators, and other relevant organisations.


Applicants should have demonstrable experience in business development, sales, or account management within the water, wastewater, environmental, engineering, or related infrastructure sectors. A good understanding of water and wastewater treatment, networks, asset management, or associated technologies is highly desirable. You will need excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, together with strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience working on tenders or complex infrastructure projects, confidence interpreting technical information, and a proactive approach to developing new business are essential. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred, along with a willingness to travel to meet clients and attend project or industry events.
