Ultrasound Tech

Role Description This part‑time, on‑site Ultrasound Tech role is based in Urbanklasse, IA. The Ultrasound Tech will perform diagnostic sonographic exams, including vascular and abdominal studies, in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Daily responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating ultrasound equipment safely and accurately, capturing high-quality images, and documenting findings in the electronic health record. The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support effective diagnosis and treatment, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control, patient privacy, and safety standards. The Ultrasound Tech will also assist with equipment maintenance, quality assurance activities, and ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in medical imaging. Qualifications Strong foundation in clinical Medicine and patient care, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Proficiency in Radiology principles and ultrasound imaging techniques, including safe operation and basic troubleshooting of sonographic equipment. Active or eligible American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification, with commitment to maintaining continuing education requirements. Demonstrated skills in Vascular sonography, including peripheral vascular and carotid studies, following established protocols and standards. Competence in Abdominal ultrasound examinations, including evaluation of abdominal organs and related structures for diagnostic purposes. Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or radiologic technology program; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills, with a focus on patient comfort, cultural sensitivity, and accurate documentation.
