Physical Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide quality therapy services to patients. The ideal candidate will conduct assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and participate in discharge planning. This role includes active involvement in the clinical operations of the department and the supervision of students and other staff members.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess the physical and cognitive abilities of patients, considering diagnosis and age-specific needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with patient and family participation, establishing measurable goals and methods for achievement.
Maintain accurate documentation, including initial patient evaluations, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with policies and procedures.
Participate in patient and family care conferences, in-service programs, and departmental meetings to enhance collaborative care.
Provide education and training for patients and families regarding care and treatment options, ensuring timely discharge planning.
Assist in coordinating and supervising Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant student programs, as well as volunteer programs.
Support clinical operations by orienting new associates and scheduling patients to ensure quality care delivery.
Adhere to the organization's core values and support performance improvement initiatives.
Maintain awareness of community resources to facilitate appropriate patient referrals and networking opportunities.
Identify educational opportunities for personal, departmental, and community development, while participating in research activities as needed.
Demonstrate competence in providing patient care tailored to meet individual needs across various demographics.
Foster professional relationships with medical staff and referral sources to improve patient outcomes.
Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico.
BLS certification from an accredited entity.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment health screening examination and annual screenings thereafter.

Work Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment of 5 days per week, with 8-hour shifts.
