The Meat Clerk at the New Castle Farmers Market supports daily stand operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, stocking, and presenting fresh meat products while maintaining Stoltzfus Meats' standards for quality, cleanliness, and food safety.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide friendly and helpful customer servicePackage, weigh, label, and stock fresh meat productsMaintain clean, organized, and well-stocked display casesRotate inventory using FIFO practicesMonitor product quality and freshnessAssist with basic meat preparation tasks as trainedFollow all food safety and sanitation standardsClean equipment, prep areas, counters, scales and other surfacesAssist with receiving and stocking deliveriesSupport meat cutters and department leadership as neededQualificationsCustomer service experience preferredGrocery, food service, or meat department experience helpful but not requiredAbility to follow food safety and sanitation proceduresStrong attention to detailDependable and team- orientedWillingness to learn basic meat department skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsFrequent lifting up to 40 lbsOccasional lifting up to 60 lbsComfortable working in refrigerated environmentsAbility to safely use knives and department equipment (training provided)Equal Opportunity Employer:Stoltzfus Meats is an equal opportunity employer.
