About the Position

Job Title: Circulating OR Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty License: RN License in state of Texas or compact Certifications: BLS required (AHA only), ACLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: Experience circulating in ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, GYN, and Plastic Surgery Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Uses the appropriate protocol to administer medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
