Senior Project Accountant The Senior Project Accountant supports Regional Operations project accounting, ensuring accurate billing, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting. Responsibilities Advocate for the billing/accounting team and raise awareness to the PM team. Lead team efforts to prepare and post monthly progress billings. Ensure adherence to all contractual billing requirements. Ensure accuracy of accounting transactions for divisions and projects. Review contracts and billings. Attend project start‑up meetings. Prepare and provide requested financial reports and audits to General Contractors, customers, and the REI Team. Provide a detailed schedule of billing timelines and issues. Train, instruct, and delegate billing/accounting responsibilities. Approve implementation of revised, updated, or new billing processes and procedures. Serve as the primary contact for all project audits with the clients. Audit monthly billings and provide feedback to General Contractors on billing reviews and questions. Communicate and investigate billing issues and resolve them with customers and the Project Management team. Prepare monthly cost at completion estimates and review for accuracy. Prepare one‑off documents (bills of sale, bailment agreements, etc.). Review and submit check requests. Prepare the billing close‑out package for all completed jobs. Support the project management team with project budgets and forecasting. Support Accounts Receivable’s collections efforts and disseminate action items. Attend weekly status meetings as needed. Prepare quarterly and annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Prepare budget variance analysis at project and overhead account level. Track vendor back charges at the Procurement & Project Management team’s request. Review and approve proposed changes to budgets resulting from approved change orders, or otherwise at the Project Management team’s discretion. Ensure that productivity rate tracking spreadsheets are accurate, up to date, and distributed weekly. Ensure subcontractor progress billings are posted in accounting software. Review Outside Rental Logs for all projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project accountant role (or a combination of education, training and relevant experience). Competencies Financial awareness Data gathering and analytics Attention to detail Required Skills Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite or another enterprise‑level finance package is preferred. Committed to working in a team atmosphere. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary. Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Effective oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive and an effective team player. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others. Travel & Working Conditions Travel: up to 25%. General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
