Classification Title: Test Proctor Employment Status: Part‑time FLSA Status: Non‑exempt Reports To: Student Success Coordinator Division: Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Campus: Central, Brown County, Offsite Job Summary Responsible for proctoring and administering standardized computer tests to groups and individuals. Maintain a quiet atmosphere for testing and follow standard testing protocol as required by agencies, faculty, or staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Proctor and administer standardized tests to groups and individuals. Maintain a quiet, secure environment for testing at the Testing Center and occasionally at high schools. Maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials, test logs, and other test documents. Vigilantly monitor for cheating and prevent dishonest behavior. Enforce Testing Center rules. Document cheating or dishonesty incidents to assist in disciplinary processes. Return testing materials to appropriate instructors or agencies as required. Collaborate with faculty to obtain information and materials needed for timely proctoring. Assist students who require special accommodations, including but not limited to reading tests, scribing tests, or providing a suitable testing climate. Assist in designing and distributing flyers, handouts, and signage regarding Testing Center hours and rules. Work occasional evenings and Saturdays to accommodate students. Adhere to assigned schedule, exhibiting regular and punctual attendance. Other Duties and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as required. Equipment Operated Computer; printer; scanner; copier; telephone; and other standard office equipment. Confidential Data Student and other information covered by FERPA guidelines and agreed to in the College’s FERPA Confidentiality Agreement; and all other non‑public and sensitive records. Working Conditions Good classroom working conditions. The work requires the use of safe work practices with office and classroom equipment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits for extended periods, occasionally stands and walks. The employee regularly engages in manual dexterity tasks while working on the computer, typing, and performing related tasks. The employee regularly talks and hears when working with students and the general public. Vision demands include detailed focus when typing or reading a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: standard office practices and procedures; placement, assessment, and standardized testing tools; English grammar, spelling, sentence structure and punctuation. Ability to: maintain confidential information; exhibit a pleasant public manner; work independently; exhibit attention to detail; keep an organized work environment; apply ethical standards; make decisions in accordance with SSCC values; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; promote a harassment‑free environment; embrace and support constructive change; work efficiently to improve college operations; follow safety and security procedures; develop effective relationships with students, community, associates and the general public; and demonstrate professionalism as a representative of SSCC. Skill in: data entry; typing; application of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel); use of Google Chrome; operation of standard office equipment; office organization; verbal and written communication. Qualifications Associate’s degree with prior computer skills and experience. Successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Southern State Community College’s policies and applicable laws. Ability to document identity and employment eligibility in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements. Licensure or Certification Requirements Must complete proctor certification for any and all governing agencies as needed to perform the job.
