Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

This position requires a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar high-acuity environment. The role involves managing patients post-rapid response, including those in respiratory distress, with unstable hemodynamics, withdrawals, GI bleeds, and post-operative complications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced setting.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, recognizing and managing dysrhythmias.
• Administer vasoactive drips, including but not limited to Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, and Levophed.
• Perform central line and peripheral line care, including PICC line management.
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams and follow IV insulin protocols and blood product administration procedures.
• Manage tracheostomy care, external CPAP/BIPAP use, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
• Implement isolation precautions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted; local candidates are also welcome.
• Must possess current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications.
• Strong experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Knowledge of EKG interpretation and management.

Shift Details:

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15).
• Every other weekend commitment required.
• Floating to sister units may be necessary.
• Target nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3-4.

Additional Information:

• No block scheduling is available.
• 7 days of requested time off (RTO) maximum for the Aya Auto Offer.
• Orientation and training to be completed in the first week; attendance for daily classes is mandatory.
• Travelers must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the assignment.
