POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintains the cleanliness of all services and hospital areas. Performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition for patients, staff, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training: High school degree or equivalency or 10 years of housekeeping experience in hospitals, nursing homes, medical clinics, or educational institutions in lieu of education. Experience: One year of experience in housekeeping duties preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting. Licensure/Certification: None Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of sanitation and disinfection processes and techniques. Ability to use equipment such as vacuum cleaner, steamer, trash compactor, carpet extractor, buffer, and burnisher machine. Knowledge of waste disposal and recycling procedure. Knowledge of safe and appropriate Hazardous/Chemical Material Handling Procedures. Knowledge of universal precautions and Safety and Infection Control in Housekeeping Services.
