AbbVie is seeking a motivated Scientist I to join the Materials Science & Characterization Team in support of pharmaceutical development, technical problem solving, and laboratory investigations. In this role, you will apply microscopy, microanalysis, and physical characterization techniques to test materials, evaluate product- and process-related issues, and generate scientific data that informs development decisions across the product lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor of Science + Experience or Master of Science Experience with one or more of the following: microscopy (optical, SEM) and imaging (IR, Raman) techniques, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic vapor sorption (DVS), particle size analysis, X-Ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and IR and Raman spectroscopy Quick learner and adapts to continuous change Good communication and documentation skills Responsibilities Support characterization studies of pharmaceutical materials across development programs and root cause investigations Perform microscopy and microscopy and spectroscopy-based testing Perform physical characterization testing using one or more of the following techniques such as: Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS), Particle size analysis, X-Ray Powder Diffraction (XRPD).
