Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides rehabilitative and medically necessary physical therapy assistance to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Facilitates patient recovery through evidence-based interventions and supports the clinical team in achieving optimal functional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device use as part of individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment strategies.
• Document all clinical interventions, patient responses, and treatment minutes in the electronic health record accurately.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, procedures, and home care instructions.
• Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and ongoing training to ensure compliance and professional development.
• Support supervision and guidance of students under the direction of a Physical Therapist.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Possess at least 1 year of PTA experience, specifically in LTC or rehab settings.
• Demonstrate proficiency with skills checklists completed within the past year.
• Have a minimum of 0-1 professional reference at the time of submission.
• Be a new graduate with Level II experience considered; Level I observation experience is insufficient.
• Adhere to APTA standards, practice acts, and ethical guidelines.
