HVAC Technician - Commercial

Job Summary EMCOR Services of NY/NJ is looking for a Senior HVAC Technician. The role involves performing preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Responsibilities also include tests, data analysis, ensuring proper functioning, maintaining records, leading teams, and coaching apprentices. The technician must follow electrical safety standards. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Install replacement equipment and parts per manufacturer specifications. Complete HVACR preventive maintenance per established standards. Troubleshoot, analyze and repair HVACR malfunctions following EPA standards. Follow maintenance schedule and maintain accurate logs. Complete documentation (timesheets, expense reports, service reports, purchase card logs). Conduct general tasks: safety training, group meetings, and maintain tools and vehicle. Education High school diploma, GED or equivalent, HVAC Apprenticeship Program. Qualifications/Skills 5–10 years of HVAC experience on commercial or industrial equipment/systems. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; present information individually and in small groups. Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems; basic math skills; read blue prints and technical schematics and specification manuals. Licenses/Certifications EPA Universal Refrigeration license; other licenses per Service Level Agreement.

FDNY Fire Watch and Burning Permits. Clean Driver’s License. Physical Demands Frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk or hear; occasionally sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly lift/ move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds. Requires close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risk, wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, toxic chemicals, extreme temperatures and vibration. Occasional loud noise. May require safety equipment (steel toe shoes, hearing, eye and hand protection).
