Operations SupervisorCenovus is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Toledo, Ohio, refinery. The objective of this role is to maintain safe, environmentally sound, and reliable asset capabilities within a defined area in the refinery. The incumbent may be asked to work varying schedules from time to time including turnarounds (TAR), special assignments, and rotate through day shift work for developmental and/or business needs. This summary is meant to be an overall job description and does not include all tasks that might be required for the position.What you'll do:Responsible for health, safety, and environmental performance and awareness in their area to achieve our goals of no accidents, no harm to people and no harm to the environment.The Operations Shift Supervisor directs outside unit operators in accomplishing the team goals within the asset area.Administers and/or participates in support of the Employee Policy, ensuring that everyone knows what is expected of them, engages in open discussions about performance issues, supports capability development, and is listened to and involved in improving their team's performance.Assures equipment reliability and that availability is maintained in support of the refinery operating plan, which is accomplished by coaching, mentoring and coordinating the outside operators.Accountable to communicate directly with outside Unit Operators all matters related to plant operation, refinery strategy, optimization issues, and pertinent external developments.Jointly accountable with Unit Operators and Asset Team that equipment is safely prepared for maintenance and that all necessary permitting and communication of hazards is completed appropriately, and that equipment is recommissioned safely and in a timely manner after maintenance.Who you are:Legally authorized to work in the USHigh School Diploma or equivalent8+ years in refinery related or industrial field experiencePrior supervisory experience in a refinery/petrochemical setting is an assetWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT JULY 1, 2025.Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada's Best Employers in 2025.
