Job Description:

This position involves providing specialized nursing care in an Intensive Care Unit with responsibilities that include advanced patient assessments and monitoring, medication administration, and implementing advanced care plans for varied patient types including medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiovascular ICU patients.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate medications, and perform proning.
• Manage hypothermia protocols, chest tubes, drains, and monitor invasive lines such as a-lines and CVP.
• Provide care primarily for medical ICU cases including DKA, DTs, multisystem failure, ARDs, CIWA/ETOCH, sepsis, PNA, and COVID.
• Occasional care for surgical ICU (open abdomen, thoracotomies) and neuro cases (CVA, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy/craniectomy).
• Assist in cardiovascular ICU recovery of post-op CABG/TAVR, fem-pop bypass, and AAA repairs.
• Floating responsibilities may include assisting in the respiratory unit, surgical unit, tele, PCU, or ED.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, familiarity with hypothermia protocols, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring.
• Experience with EPIC charting and BD Alaris IV Pumps.
• Preferred: Travel experience and strong skills in medical ICU over CV/surgical.
