Job Description

Prevailing Faith Bible Church is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging individual to serve as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Van Driver. This role plays a vital part in the spiritual and physical care of our young church members by providing Bible-based instruction and ensuring safe transportation to and from church.

Key Responsibilities:

Sunday School Instruction (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM):

Teach Bible lessons to children ages 2–12 using age-appropriate curriculum
Lead children in prayer, songs, memory verses, and interactive learning activities
Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment
Communicate with parents and guardians as needed
Assist with light cleanup and setup of the classroom before and after lessons

Transportation Duties (9:30 AM – 10:00 AM; 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM):

Operate a church-provided 16-passenger van to pick up and return children attending Sunday School
Ensure all passengers are safely seated and accounted for during transport
Follow all traffic laws and church transportation policies
Maintain cleanliness of the van and report any maintenance needs
Communicate with families regarding pickup and drop-off times as needed

Qualifications:

Must be at least 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
Valid Louisiana driver’s license with clean driving record
Previous experience working with children in a church or educational setting preferred
Strong knowledge of and commitment to Christian values and teachings
Ability to lead children in engaging and spiritually enriching activities
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

Additional Requirements:

Background check and driving record verification
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
Must be able to safely lift small children in/out of van seats when necessary
Must maintain good communication with the church staff and families
