Accounting Assistant

Accounting Assistant Immediate Need! This role will begin the temporary to permanent route with end goal permanent employment. Location: San Antonio, TX (78226 Area) A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join its accounting team. This position offers an opportunity to support the daily financial operations of a mission-driven organization while working in a collaborative and team-focused environment. Responsibilities Assist with daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivables Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing. Support general ledger maintenance, including reconciliations and journal entries. Reconcile credit card statements and other financial accounts. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities. Review financial information for accuracy and completeness. Provide support with annual tax reporting and other compliance-related documentation. Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment and account inquiries. Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as needed. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting. Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Team-oriented with a positive, adaptable attitude.
