JOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryThe Program Purchasing Buyer is part of our Operational Purchasing team and will be responsible for flawless program launches, ensuring purchasing deliverables are met according to program timing and budget, negotiating product changes, supporting VAVE activities, BOM and sourcing tracking, preparing RFQs, negotiating and sourcing parts and tooling, supporting technical feasibility reviews, and representing purchasing in multifunctional program reviews.Core ResponsibilitiesAbility to work with multiple functions within Adient (Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance) and influence without direct authorityClear understanding of supplier terms and conditionsAbility to negotiate (tactics, techniques, and strategies)Evaluate cost breakdowns to identify opportunities to reduce overall costAbility to cooperate with people of different levels inside / outside the company and to interact with the team to reach team goals and business objectivesAbility to recognize and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgencyAbility to gather information, analyze data, prepare and lead negotiations as well as deliver a recommendationAbility to summarize complex issues and communicate to all levels of managementAbility to be successful working in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiesSome travel may be requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field3-5 years of Automotive Purchasing experience required.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPRIMARY LOCATIONCentral Tech Unit Plymouth MISummaryLocation: Plymouth, MIType: Full time
