RN - ED (Full-Time Flex Shift)

Emergency Department NurseJoin our 24/7 Emergency Department where our nurses work as a team and treat each other and our patients like family. Adult and pediatric hospitalists are available for consultation and patient admissions. Specialty coverage is provided by orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology and cardiology. We also have a stroke telehealth program in conjunction with St. Vincent Ascension in Indianapolis. We typically have 21,000+ visits a year with an average of 57 daily visits and six daily admissions. We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits and flexibility.Responsibilities:Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties.Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.Qualifications:Requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnelGraduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure requiredWork requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms which is normally acquiredRequires ACLS, PALS and TNCC to be completed within twelve months of hire dateBenefits:Continuing education scholarshipsGenerous paid days off (PDO) - with the option to rollover unused hours each yearEmployer funded pensionWorking Hours: - Full-Time - Mid-shift Flex 11:00A - 11:00P and 1:00P - 1:00A - Three shifts per week - Every 4th weekend - Holiday rotation
