Responsibilities and Duties

· Manage complex and/or multiple projects from preconstruction and planning through construction, closeout, and final completion

· Provide overall leadership and accountability for project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, profitability, and client satisfaction

· Develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules to ensure project milestones and completion dates are achieved

· Manage project budgets, costs, commitments, cash flow, and financial performance and provide accurate and timely project forecasts

· Analyze project financial performance, identify potential cost exposures and risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary

· Coordinate with Project Superintendents and project teams to develop and execute project plans, including subcontractor activities, equipment, materials, manpower requirements, and overall project sequencing

· Manage subcontractors and vendors, including scope development and coordination, contract compliance, scheduling, performance, negotiations, and issue resolution

· Review construction documents, drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work to identify discrepancies, constructability concerns, potential conflicts, and project risks

· Oversee the RFI, submittal, and shop drawing processes to ensure accuracy, contract compliance, timely resolution, and proper communication to project stakeholders

· Develop and oversee procurement strategies for major materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes to support project schedules and financial objectives

· Prepare, review, negotiate, and approve change orders within established authority, including subcontractor and owner changes

· Proactively manage project risk and identify potential contractual, financial, scheduling, design, and field-related issues before they impact project performance

· Ensure accurate and complete project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, drawings, reports, RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and other required project records

· Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other key project stakeholders

· Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project and support opportunities for repeat business

· Lead project meetings and provide clear communication regarding project status, schedule, financial performance, risks, changes, and outstanding issues

· Work closely with Project Superintendents to proactively resolve field conditions, scheduling conflicts, design discrepancies, constructability issues, and other project challenges

· Oversee project billing, cost reporting, forecasting, change management, and other financial reporting requirements

· Ensure contractual requirements, project specifications, company procedures, and applicable codes and standards are followed throughout the project

· Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, warranties, as-built drawings, financial closeout, and turnover requirements

· Participate in estimating and preconstruction efforts, including scope development, budgeting, constructability reviews, project planning, procurement strategies, and subcontractor/vendor selection

· Review project contracts and scopes to ensure project teams understand contractual requirements, risks, responsibilities, and deliverables

· Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members

· Assist in developing project management best practices, processes, and standards to improve consistency and project performance across the organization

· Communicate significant project risks, financial concerns, client issues, and other critical matters to company leadership in a timely manner

· Support company leadership with resource planning and coordination across projects as needed

Qualifications and Skills

· Extensive knowledge of the construction industry, construction methods, project management practices, and field operations

· Proven experience successfully managing complex construction projects through all phases of the project lifecycle

· Strong understanding of construction financial management, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, billing, cash flow, change management, and project profitability

· Advanced ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and other construction documents

· Strong knowledge of project scheduling, procurement, subcontract management, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, contracts, and construction closeout processes

· Ability to identify, evaluate, and manage contractual, financial, scheduling, constructability, and operational risks

· Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and effectively coordinate field and office operations

· Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to develop and support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other team members

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and build relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal leadership

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to independently resolve complex project issues

· Ability to take ownership and accountability for project performance and results

· Proficiency with construction management software and standard business applications

· Advanced knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, safety requirements, and industry practices

· Valid driver's license
