Eligible candidates may qualify for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and new shift differentials. Responsibilities Perform venipunctures and skin punctures on all age groups, from neonates through adults. Obtain blood specimens and process them for analysis. Register patients and facilitate billing using the appropriate computer systems. Conduct accessioning and processing of specimens with accuracy to ensure proper identification. Explain the blood‑drawing process and maintain a comforting attitude toward patients. Follow Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines for specimen collection. Recognize and resolve discrepancies, evaluate specimen suitability, and refer problems as appropriate. Perform testing, record results, and maintain point‑of‑care instruments (troubleshooting, quality control). Handle and replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols. Follow reporting procedures, record and report problems and solutions. Navigate multiple computer applications as needed and adhere to related policies and compliance procedures. Provide phlebotomy coverage to medical group offices, skilled nursing facilities, and in‑home phlebotomy for homebound patients. Complete initial and subsequent competency examinations. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required. Related work experience – required. Certification: Certified Phlebotomy Technician – American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Valid driver’s license. Experience as a nursing assistant (NA), certified nursing assistant (CNA), medical assistant (MA), certified medical assistant (CMA), or similar. Military experience (US Army 68W, 18D; US Navy Hospital Corpsman; other medical specialties) is considered. ASCP certification for Phlebotomist III is an advantage. Competency in venipuncture, skin puncture, specimen accessioning, instrument troubleshooting, and patient communication.
