Shift Details

Shift time is from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Unit Information

• Nurse Aide Ratio: 1 to 10
• Patient Ratios: 1 to 5
• Number of Beds: 44 beds, including 8 semiprivate rooms
• Unit Composition: Cardiology Stepdown (4A for cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery; 4B for smaller procedures, drips, CHF patients)
• Charge Nurse Role: Charge Nurse (Clinical Supervisor)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Administer drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and heparin.
• Monitor and manage BiPap and CPAP devices; high flow oxygen implementation.
• Collaborate with hospitalists or intensivists who are available 24/7.
• Support from IV, RT, and Pharmacy teams available 24/7.

Qualifications

Considerable experience with a range of cardiac diagnoses and procedures is required, including but not limited to:

• POD #1 CABG
• Cardiovascular surgeries and related procedures
• Management of CHF and arrhythmias
• Discharge and admit processes for a busy workload

Preferred abilities include the pulling of pacer wires, with formal orientation provided when necessary.

Additional Information

Floating may occur to ICU for stepdown patients as noted in the contract. Candidates should be comfortable with flexible scheduling, including holidays and weekend requirements.

The facility maintains a strict 75-mile radius rule. Compliance with dress code includes natural hair colors, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, and no visible tattoos.
