Registered Nurse (RN) - Women's Health

Mewinzha Ondaadiziike Wiigaming is an Anishinaabe-led, nonprofit community health clinic providing culturally integrated women's healthcare in rural northern Minnesota.

We are seeking a BSN-prepared Registered Nurse to work alongside our Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and integrative care team. This outpatient role focuses on gynecologic, reproductive, maternal and primary women's health services no labor and delivery responsibilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Assist with well-woman exams, prenatal visits and in-office gynecologic procedures
• Provide patient education on prenatal, postpartum, breastfeeding, contraception, menopause and preventive health
• Provide lactation education and support
• Screen for perinatal mood disorders and coordinate follow-up care
• Triage patient concerns and coordinate referrals and care transitions
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Document care in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with doulas, midwives, lactation counselors, traditional healers and other members of the care team
• Participate in quality improvement, team meetings and collaborative care planning

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• BSN from an accredited nursing program
• Active, unrestricted Minnesota RN license (or eligibility)
• Current BLS certification
• 2+ years of clinical nursing experience , preferably in women's health, maternal health, community health or primary care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native communities or a demonstrated commitment to learning and serving in an Anishinaabe-led healthcare setting

PREFERRED

• Women's health nursing experience
• Rural healthcare experience
• Experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native populations
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Anishinaabe culture, language, values and healing traditions
• CLC, CLS or IBCLC certification
