Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN General) Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 1:45 PM - 9:45 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid LPN license Certifications: CPR certification preferred Must-Have: Flexibility in scheduling Description: Administers nursing care within the scope of practice as defined by state regulations under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician. Provides skilled nursing procedures such as administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, and monitoring patient conditions during treatments. Assists physicians with physical exams and emergency situations by performing first-aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. Maintains medication accountability records and observes, documents, and reports patient conditions. Prepares and maintains related reports and records. Provides general nursing care and assistance with daily living activities. Responds to patient alarms and assists with recreational activities as outlined in treatment plans. Offers direction and training to lower-level direct care staff in the provision of unskilled nursing care. Attends various meetings, including staff conferences and training programs, as assigned. Orders medication and medical supplies as needed. Cleans and restocks the nurses' station and medication areas. Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and filing. Possesses knowledge of skilled practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, and first-aid practices. Demonstrates ability to operate medical equipment and provide compassionate patient care. Recognizes unusual or threatening conditions and takes appropriate emergency action. Develops rapport with patients and comprehends manuals and verbal instructions related to practical nursing. Exhibits dexterity in administering injections and performing medical treatments. May involve responding to medical emergencies. City: Grafton State: OH
