Position Summary:
We are developing a revolutionary, low cost single-molecule DNA sequencer that can potentially improve the lives of people in a wide variety of ways including timely screening for diseases and diagnosis of various cancers by fusing biological and integrated circuit technology.
We are seeking a mechanical engineer to support development of consumable fluidic devices at our organization, with educational and/or professional background in mechanical and/or process engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
* Flowcell manufacturing, process development and assembly.
* Facilitate senior engineers in SolidWorks design.
* Dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis and reporting.
* Surface metrology and characterization.
* Component testing, quality checks, and visual inspection.
* Sample preparation for external analysis.
* Component and subcomponent inventory management; shipping preparation and receiving.

Qualification & Experience:
* Associates or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution, 0-2 years of professional experience required, but hands-on lab experience is preferred.
* Microfabrication, microfluidics and materials knowledge or experience is also a plus.
* Excellence in familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or equivalent required.
* Familiarity with metrology or microscopy equipment is also a big plus.
