We just had an Epic reporting hire. (See resume attached for example)


Epic Reporting Analyst with Epic Cogito (Clarity/Caboodle), advanced SQL, My Panel Metrics (MPMs), Healthy Planet, HEDIS, care gap reporting, SlicerDicer, Radar Dashboards, and provider-facing population health reporting experience.


In addition to the traditional Clarity/Caboodle reporting background we have been providing, they would now like to focus on candidates that have experience building MPMs (My Panel Metrics) within Epic.


MPMs are provider-facing operational and quality metrics used heavily within population health and value-based care environments. These metrics to help providers track things like care gaps, patient quality measures, preventative care compliance, panel performance, and other operational KPIs directly within Epic.


MUST HAVES:

• 4-7+ years of Epic reporting experience
• Strong Epic Cogito experience (Clarity and/or Caboodle)
• Advanced SQL skills
• Experience building/supporting My Panel Metrics (MPMs) OR provider-facing operational reporting
• Experience with population health, Healthy Planet, HEDIS, care gaps, or quality metrics
• Experience with SlicerDicer
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume reporting environment

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Strong candidates will usually mention:

• MPMs
• Population Health
• Healthy Planet
• Care Gap Reporting
• HEDIS
• Provider Metrics
• Cogito
• Radar Dashboards
• Reporting Workbench
• Provider operational reporting

Candidates that are purely backend SQL/report writers without provider-facing reporting or population health experience will likely not be strong fits for this updated direction.


Based on my research......the ideal candidate will likely have a combination of:

• Epic Clarity/Caboodle experience
• Cogito or Healthy Planet exposure
• Population health or provider metrics experience
• Experience supporting provider-facing reporting and operational dashboards

We should absolutely revisit candidates that have already been submitted or screened and ask additional questions around MPM exposure, provider metrics, and population health reporting experience.


A few qualifying questions you could use...

• Have you worked with My Panel Metrics (MPMs) in Epic? MOST IMPORTANT
• What types of provider or population health metrics have you supported?
• Were the dashboards/reporting provider-facing?
• Did you work with Healthy Planet, Cogito, Radar, or Reporting Workbench?
• Have you supported care gap, HEDIS, or quality measure reporting?

This role is still highly technical and requires strong Epic reporting experience, but the ideal candidate will also understand the clinical/business side of provider metrics and population health reporting.
