The Commercial Building Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of large-scale commercial properties exceeding 200,000 square feet, including office buildings, industrial facilities, medical buildings, and banks. Acting as the sole manager, this role demands 24/7 availability for emergency response, ensuring tenant satisfaction, safety compliance, and efficient facility management while maintaining budgetary controls and fostering strong vendor and tenant relationships.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage facility maintenance and energy management for large commercial properties
• Serve as the primary contact for tenant relations and public relations
• Develop and oversee budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely service delivery
• Administer sales agreements and maintain accurate records
• Provide 24/7 emergency response and crisis management
• Supervise and guide any onsite staff or contractors

 

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial building management
• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management or related field
• Proficiency in facility management, budgeting, and contract negotiation
• Strong skills in vendor management and lease administration
• In-depth knowledge of safety compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
• Fluent in English and Spanish
