Part Time Registered Nurse (Rn) - Behavioral Health Residential Services

Our robust continuum of care includes 40+ residential behavioral health programs, community-based services, two schools, and outpatient clinics throughout New Jersey, providing opportunities for professional growth, clinical development, and career advancement.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing services to youth residing in 2 of our behavioral health residential programs. The nurse provides safe, clinically appropriate nursing care; medication administration and monitoring; health assessments; clinical interventions; care coordination; health education; and timely, accurate documentation in accordance with applicable nursing standards, agency policies and procedures, Medicaid/SSD requirements, program expectations, and the participant's individualized treatment and nursing plans.

Our nurses are an integral part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, working collaboratively with psychiatrists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), residential counselors, clinicians, and other professionals to provide an array of therapeutic and supportive services to individuals in our care.

The nurse works collaboratively with residential, clinical, psychiatric, medical, educational, and administrative staff to promote the health, safety, stability, and treatment progress of each participant.

Essential Nursing Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing services consistent with professional licensure, scope of practice, agency policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Complete nursing assessments, clinical check-ins, health screenings, and follow-up assessments as required.
• Monitor participants for changes in physical, behavioral, emotional, and mental health status.
• Identify and appropriately respond to changes in condition, medical concerns, medication-related concerns, injuries, illness, behavioral health symptoms, and other health needs.
• Notify appropriate medical, psychiatric, clinical, supervisory, and/or emergency personnel when indicated.
• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders, the MAR, pharmacy instructions, and agency medication procedures.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, compliance, adverse reactions, side effects, and changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate medication records and report medication discrepancies or concerns immediately.
• Complete medication reconciliation upon admission, return from hospital/medical appointments, medication changes, and discharge as applicable.
• Verify medication orders, pharmacy-prepared medication packaging, labels, dosing instructions, administration times, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with pharmacies, prescribers, guardians, hospitals, primary care providers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Assist with medical appointments, hospital follow-up, laboratory testing, specialty care, and other healthcare needs.
• Provide health education to participants and residential staff within the nurse's scope of practice.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical meetings, case reviews, MDTs, IDTs, BSP meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
• Provide nursing consultation and clinical input to the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, BCBAs, residential counselors, clinicians, and other disciplines to support integrated care.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy requirements.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established emergency, medical, psychiatric, injury, infection-control, and crisis procedures.
• Complete required incident-related nursing assessments and documentation.
• Maintain required nursing supplies, emergency equipment, medication areas, and health records.
• Identify and report health and safety concerns within the residential environment.
• Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action activities as assigned.
• Maintain current professional licensure, certifications, and required training.
• Travel required.

Requirements:

• Current, unrestricted NJ RN license.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required.
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, pediatric/adolescent, adult, residential, or community-based nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records bonus.

Schedule: Part Time flexible 16 hrs weekly.
