Lecturer of English Composition

Job Title: Lecturer of English Composition Department: Department of Language, Literature, and Arts Location: San Antonio, Texas Job Type: Faculty (full‑time, non‑tenure‑track) Start Date: Fall 2026 Teaching Load: 4/4 base load. Responsibilities include teaching First‑Year Composition courses, Dual Credit / Early College High School composition, and potentially Integrated Reading and Writing courses. Responsibilities Deliver undergraduate First‑Year Composition instruction. Provide service responsibilities within the department. Teach Dual Credit / Early College High School students in composition courses. Engage with instructional technologies, including learning management systems and digital portfolios. May teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses as needed. Participate in departmental and university service activities. Qualifications Master’s degree in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum 18 graduate hours in English. At least one (1) year of college or university teaching experience. Preferred: Experience teaching composition and a Ph.D. in English or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
